The Iberá Marshlands are one of South America’s great freshwater wildernesses, a vast network of crystal-clear creeks, shallow flats, lagoons, channels, and rivers where Golden Dorado thrive in an extraordinary natural environment. In northern Argentina’s Corrientes Province, the marsh and the Corriente River come together to create a remarkably diverse and dynamic fishery.

The clear waters of Iberá provide exceptional visibility and make both blind casting and true sight fishing possible. Anglers can explore the marsh’s creeks and lagoons, the faster waters of the headwaters, and the broader Corriente River, adapting their approach to changing water conditions and fish behavior throughout the day.

Golden Dorado are the undisputed target, with resident and migratory fish ranging from around 5 pounds to more than 20 pounds. The combination of crystal-clear water and varied structure allows anglers to use a wide range of techniques, from streamers and floating lines to mice, skaters, and swing presentations. Spinning is also available when desired.

Fishing takes place both from specialized skiffs and while wading, offering two very different ways to experience the fishery. The shallow waters and flats can demand precise presentations and careful approaches, while the river provides deeper water, faster currents, and different holding areas for powerful Dorado.
